How
to prepare your job for processing...
Make sure you have all of the supporting files in which we will need
to process your job properly. Any logos or photos that you want to use
must be scanned/saved in the following file formats:

Adobe PDF Files
Adobe Acrobat has been a life-saver for some jobs. If created
correctly, it is possible to produce a single file that has every font
and graphic embedded for simple printing and processing. If done
incorrectly, the PDF file generates errors and will not process
through our systems. It is very important to call ahead and verify
your PDF settings if you are interested in using the format for our
workflow.

E-mail or FTP
When sending your
file electronically via E-mail, it is always best to consider the
actual file size. Because a 1MB file can take up to 10 minutes to
transfer @ 28kbps internet access speeds. Also, some E-mail providers
(ISPs) may limit the size of E-mail files so be careful not to send
large files without checking with your ISP about E-mail size limits.
There are
alternatives to E-mail such as File Transfer Protocol (FTP). This is
basically a network transfer across the internet connection from your
computer to ours. Just call and ask about FTP transfers if you are
interested.

Potential Problems with Digital Files...
Most problems
with digital files are due to just not including all of the pieces
that have been used to create the final layout document. These pieces
include fonts or typefaces, logo files, photo files and any other
support documents that may be used to complete the layout.
If the designer
collects the information in an adequate manner, most problems can be
avoided or repaired easily.
Bad photo files
can ruin a print project. Always verify that you are using the
following rules to supply ample resolution in each file:
-
300dpi @ 100%
actual print size
-
Color Photos
should be in CMYK TIFF, JPEG or EPS format.
-
Black and
White Photos should be Greyscale TIFF, JPEG or EPS.
